Easter Break Homework

If I were my NT professor, the only assignment I'd give to my students would be to go to/ watch an Easter service. After all, isn't that the point of the whole Bible?

But, no. I get to compare "inconsistencies" between Galatians and Acts...

I love going to a Catholic school! Good Friday & Easter Monday off... plus both my professors canceled class on Holy Thursday!

Man oh man, Hershinator, our Easter Vigil was a-freaking-mazing... oh man, so it starts in silence and darkness with the whole Easter candle thing, and then with a bit more light they go through this wonderful series of OT readings, starting with creation, and the exodus out of Egypt, and then readings from the prophets about God's love for his people... and for all the psalm responses in between, they had a single cantor singing a capella... and then when they got to the transition, from OT to NT, they turned all the lights up and sang the Gloria (which we don't sing during Lent!) with organ and a brass ensemble and cymbals and chimes and the Liturgical choir... and it just makes you go, AHHH, HE IS RISEN.

You would have loved it, even as a heretic!! (*cough* we'll get you yet, my pretty *cough*)

CHRISTUS RESURREXIT!! ALLELUIA!!

Yeah- good move going to ND. We're too liberal for our own good here..

Wow, that does sound amazing! I love this day so much, as we've discussed in years past, and that would only make it 10xs more awesome!

And yeh, even us 'heretics' enjoy a good service like that. I went to my church's Good Friday service (at home...so Lutheran), and then watched a non-denominational service online...and while i do enjoy contemporary worship music most days, there was something about drums, guitars, and mics that just didn't seem right for the evening...
(don't worry, I'm not too far gone!)

and even though i'm going calvinist on you, at least i'm staying away from the street drugs. ;-p

He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
